BPIF manages £1.1m plus bid award from the Employer Ownership Pilot Programme

The British Printing Industries Federation is delighted to announce that a bid prepared in conjunction with Berforts Plc  representing the Eastern Regions of the BPIF has been successful  (subject to due diligence) in securing over £1m of funding for a new cross industry Degree Level Graduate Training and Development Programme.

The funding is part of the £165m skills boost Employer Ownership Pilot programmes announced by Vince Cable as part of the Governments Industrial Strategy launched today at Imperial College.

The programme designed with a steering committee representing manufacturers, printers and supply chain managers will provide an innovative programme for two hundred managers in the printing industry.

Kathy Woodward Chief Executive of the BPIF said “This is fantastic news. To be included in the pilot is a real testament to the quality of our bid. The programme will cover a two year period and will be open to both the two hundred taking the full programme whilst those looking to boost specific skills and knowledge can attend the hundred plus support seminars. It is anticipated that the programme will kick off in January 2013 and has the full backing of Senior Directors from across the BPIF.

Tony Garnish Chief Executive of AGI and BPIF President said “This is a programme that the industry really needs; I have used the BPIF Training services extensively and am confident that they will bring the professionalism and excitement to make the programme a huge success.”
