Smarter 2 Project

Smarter 2 Project
On my visits to members I am often told that they face difficulties getting on or staying on customers preferred supplier lists if they can not demonstrate their companies environmental credentials, and for many the cost of implementing an environmental standard is prohibitive in terms of money and time.

Over the past year the BPIF in conjunction with Carbon Smart and European Regional Development Funding has been able to provide companies in London with environmental credentials that are straight forward and hassle free and an enhanced programme will soon be available to companies in the North West.

The programme will provide a company with a robust environmental policy to present to clients as well as a calculation of the companies carbon footprint and an environmental action plan. Smart meters will be provided to monitor progress against the action plan and support given to help the company reach its targets. Once targets have been reached, the company will also be certified as a Carbon Smart business - the fastest growing environmental programme in the UK.

The scheme is fully funded by the ERDF and only available to Small and Medium Sized Enterprises in the NWRDA area.
