Apprentices in print given a voice

Apprentices in print given a voice

BPIF are the leading apprenticeship provider within the print industry and recognise the importance in giving the youth of the industry a voice. This is why we have formed the BPIF Apprentice Council to ensure that our apprentices have the opportunity to shape the delivery of our training programmes. The council will also provide a platform for council members to express their views on the industry and make clear their needs. This will all feed into the BPIFs schools programme which aims to attract more school leavers into our industry.

The BPIF Apprentice Council will meet twice a year and the Chairman has been named as Josh Levett-Thomas, from Hobbs, who has recently completed his advanced apprenticeship in Mechanised Print Finishing & Binding. The council members have a representative from each of the 6 regions who are all currently undertaking an apprenticeship with the BPIF.

BPIF Apprentice Council:

Josh Levett-Thomas, Hobbs

Liam Walton, Galloways Printers Ltd

South West Representative

North East Representative

This initiative is supported by the Printing Charity who will be covering the travel expenses of the council members and London Calling who are kindly hosting the inaugural meeting.

BPIF have been actively involved in shaping the Print Trailblazer for apprenticeships along with a consortium of leading industry employers and are registered as a Youth Friendly organisation.
