YMP rebranding for the future

As you are undoubtedly aware the printing industry has gone through many turbulent times over the last few years, resulting in the loss of many companies along the way. The loss of those companies in this economic climate has had a considerable effect on the membership of our trade organisations.
YMP VISIT TO NEWSFAX

Wednesday 30th March saw eighteen members of the group visit Newsfax in Rainham Essex. The group were met by Andy Willcocks, senior production manager at 3.00pm and were given a brief history of the Newspaper Company.

The YMP organisation has just celebrated its 82 years in existence and has proved a valuable tool in developing people during that time in our industry. Over the weekend 27/28th February I attended the National Conference in Blackpool. It was a busy weekend, including a full day's training. A group task centred around marketing, giving each group a product and they were asked to start from the ground floor upwards and produce a marketing plan. Things to consider were where and what was the potential market; how big; ROI; logo; strap line; promotional literature etc. The results were then presented to investors of the product. Finally we were given video cameras and asked to produce a one minute advertisement for the product, film it, voiceovers and edit. The results were presented at the Gala Dinner that evening.
NTW 2010 report

Once again the NTW was held in the beautiful Peak District, with its stunning views and breathtaking landscapes. The weekend was a great success, thanks to Sam and his team from Acclimbatize, who where extremely confident and professional and made everyone feel safe in all the events over the weekend.
YMP National Conference 2011

Not sure about you, but it does not seem that long since the 2009 Conference in Cardiff, and here we are again gearing up for 2011. As you are probably aware, it has not been an easy 18 months and there was no conference held in 2010, this was only the 2nd time in the history of the YMP, which has been going for over 80 years, the first time being during the years around WWII, when no conference was held for 8 years.

YMP National Conference 2008 - "Peak" Performance

The hugely popular YMP National Conference and main event of the YMP annual calendar will be held at The Palace Hotel, Buxton set in the beautiful surroundings of Derbyshire and the Peak District.
Taking place over the weekend of Friday 29 February to Sunday 2 March, the conference themed ‘Increasing Personal Effectiveness’, is a must for motivated people within the print industry and employers who want their employees to grow and develop their business to peak performance.

The setting for this year's NTW was the breathtaking Tower Wood, on Windermere in the Lake District. Memorable moments included scuba diving, canoeing, orienteering and ghyll scrambling.

23 - 25 February 2007, De Vere Royal Bath Hotel, Bournemouth Themed, 'What does the future hold? - The shape of things to come.' BPIF Chief Executive Michael Johnson will kick start the event, which promises to offer attendees a packed programme of simulating, participative and fun learning opportunities. Guests will look at how good customer service can benefit their organisations as well as find out about the latest technologies, products and services from leading suppliers.

70th YMP National Conference

The YMP Organisation has been running its annual conference for 70 years, this makes it one of the longest running annual events in the UK. The 70TH YMP National Conference, at Heythrop Park Oxfordshire, in February this year, was again a huge success. For the third year running Rhodes Event Management facilitated the training for the weekend, the theme of which was ‘Efficiency, Communication and Profitability – The Three Steps to Success’.
