BPIF's Members' Day a success for all
BPIF's Members' Day a success for all
This year BPIF Members' Day took on a new format with the morning comprising of a workshop for all learners on the Level 5 Graduate Management Programme. This programme has been one of the year's successes for the BPIF. As one of only 30 schemes to achieve employer-led funding it has allowed the BPIF to train 250 employees in the printing industry to degree level.
The second workshop for the Level 5 Graduate Management Programme took place at Church House Conference Centre in London. It focused on Performance Management and aimed to give learners an opportunity to analyse their own approaches and discuss with learners from other companies alternative strategies.
The morning session was followed by the BPIF's Annual General Meeting which had a record turnout and allowed members to find out how their subscription is being spent as well as facilitating any questions or comments.
The final event of the day was the All Party-Parliamentary Print Group hosted by Lord O'Neill of Clackmannan on the Terrace Pavilion at the House of Lords and sponsored by HP. This reception allowed learners and members to network while enjoying the sun on the terrace.
At the reception Michael Burman- F E Burman, was presented with an award for 'Outstanding Contribution to the Printing Industry'. Dan Dean- B&B Press (Parkgate) Ltd, Timon Colegrove- Hunts Paper & Pixels and Richard Knowles- BCQ Group Ltd were also awarded BPIF Fellows for their support to the printing industry and the BPIF.
Kathy Woodward commented ''Members' Day is one of the highlights of the year and an opportunity for members to network with their MPs. It was fantastic that Andrew Lansley, Leader of the House of Commons, was amongst the MPs in attendance.''
