BPIF Launch Graduate Management Programme

BPIF Launch Graduate Management Programme

The BPIF launched its Graduate Management Programme for professionals in print and media on the 30 of April at The Tower - A Guoman Hotel in London. 160 learners attended the day event which was deemed a success by all.  Ellis Watson, CEO of DC Thomson & Co Ltd and motivational speaker, urged all learners to be 'just that bit better and enthusiastic, dynamic and candid in the workplace'.  Learners were introduced to their mentors and the programme was explained in detail.

The Graduate Programme has been developed with input from across the industry supply chain to provide managers and technical specialists within the industry with a personal and professional development plan. The Programme is aimed at key personnel who are committed to developing their skills and knowledge across all aspects of management. Whilst the content is tailored to the Print and Media industry, the learning and qualifications are transferable to other sectors.

This bespoke programme is scheduled over two years to allow learners to actively contribute to continual performance improvement within their organisation whilst continuing their full time roles. The programme consists of 8 compulsory modules and 8 optional modules. Learners will have access to the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and support from their mentors.

Once all modules are completed the learners will achieve The Institute of Leadership and management (ILM) Level 5 Diplomas in Management (NVQ) and Principles of Leadership & Management (VRQ). The ILM is the UK's foremost leadership and management qualifications body, and the qualification is nationally recognised and equivalent to foundation degree level.

Learners will have free individual membership of the BPIF whilst they remain learners on the programme. Benefits will include access to all BPIF publications, networking events and attendance to the European Management Conference.

The programme is being jointly funded with the assistance of the Government's Employer Ownership Programme (EOP).

Kathy Woodward CEO of the BPIF stated "the response to the launch of the programme has been fantastic. We have over 250 delegates signed up to the programme and are well on our way to creating a real cross company forum for our young managers. The breadth of companies participating and the support from every level of management has excelled my expectations, thank you to everyone involved. In the last three weeks the BPIF has held three major knowledge transfer events, Media Market Place exhibition in the North, BOSS Young Managers Forum in the Midlands and the Graduate Management Programme launch in London involving nearly 800 delegates.''
