BOSS Federation and BPIF extend their successful Association Management Contract
In 2007 the Boards of both the British Office Supplies & Services Federation [BOSS] and the British Printing Industries Federation [BPIF] agreed a five year Association Management Contract between the two Federations. Whilst each retained their separate legal status with two separate Boards of Directors, BOSS outsourced their administration, support, products and services to the BPIF.
During the last five years of the management contract, BOSS membership has successfully increased by 30% strengthening the membership to 1,300 members. BOSS members now have access to a wide range of additional added value BPIF products and services, including HR, health and safety, legal, environmental, consultants, ViP lean process engineers and training, making membership to the BOSS Federation an excellent proposition.
BOSS also continues to maintain the industry’s technical and standards specifications, which is vital in the management of the supply chain and in category and catalogue classification.
The BPIF marketing team have provided the BOSS membership with a whole new communication suite, including the introduction of two new membership magazines BOSS Today and BOSS Today Xtra, introduced a new event ‘BOSS Members’ Day’ which is open to all members and this year was attended by over 90 of the leading CEOs in the industry. Last year saw the team revitalise the BOSS Industry Awards evening, increasing attendance by over 30% with 550 guests and winners attending a black tie awards ceremony in London.
Following the success of their Association Management contract, both Federation Boards have agreed to extend the contract by a further three years from July 2012 to June 2015.
BPIF President Tony Garnish said, “With the renewal of this contract we have all agreed a new 3 year membership retention and growth strategy which will be implemented during this contract period and fully supported by BOSS, BPIF and the Regional Boards.”
Chairman of the BOSS Federation, Alan Ball, said, "This partnership offers strength for both parties and shows how bringing together two different Federations with a similar agenda can create significant value and financial security for all."

22 February 2024
Performance in the UK's printing and printed packaging industry did improve in Q4, as far as output and orders are concerned. However, it didn't come close to what would historically be considered the seasonal norm, nor quite match the subdued expectations for Q4.
