Computype Europe Opens New State of the Art Manufacturing Facility

Computype Europe Opens New State of the Art Manufacturing Facility

In the summer of 2011 Computype Europe moved its headquarters and manufacturing facility to a new location on the outskirts of Kingston upon Hull, in the United Kingdom.

Computype is recognised as a global leader in the Automated Identification arena, having been located in Kingston upon Hull for 30 years providing their customers in a wide variety of markets throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa with unique labeling solutions, including engineered harsh environment barcode labels, label applicators, printers, scanners, software and bureau services.

John Newton, Managing Director of Computype Europe, is excited about Computype's continuing success and expansion plans. "Later this year our investment will continue as we install a new coating line and upgrade our finishing processes. This move signifies an important landmark in Computype's growth strategy. We look forward to welcoming our customers to the new facility."

The new location also provides Computype's engineering and technical team with enhanced facilities in which to design and manufacture their impressive range of labeling solutions, including automated label applicators, barcode and RFID labels and related automated identification products and services.

A key strength for Computype is its multiple locations in Europe and the USA allowing the company to manufacture and deliver a broad range of products and services on two continents. This gives Computype's customers the security of supply and the ability to receive identical solutions in different parts of the world.

Charlie Westling, CEO of Computype Inc. a Minnesota (US) based corporation which acquired Computype Europe nearly 30 years ago, said that global growth was the catalyst for this relocation. "Our business has expanded in both the US and Europe and many of our customers would experience serious consequences if the supply of our critical identification products was disrupted. Moving to a prestigious facility in Hull made sense for us because it enables us to provide an even more responsive and improved service both in Europe and North America."
