Latcham Direct goes for growth with acquisition of CGL

Latcham Direct, based in Bristol, and a leading provider of digital and print solutions to customers throughout the UK, has acquired CGL, an independent print management company based in Crawley, Sussex, as part of its ongoing strategy to significantly grow the business and increase its UK-wide reach.

The award-winning firm, headed by Managing Director Mike Hughes, which launched in 2010 and employs over 90 staff, has a wealth of experience delivering print production, mailing, secure document fulfilment and specialist digital communications.

The CGL purchase marks Latcham Direct's first strategic acquisition and is an important step as the business looks to broaden its scope and extend its reach to key industries across the country.

Established nearly 30 years ago in 1988, CGL is a well-respected company delivering a range of print, mailing and distribution services and products to core sectors such as: Local Authorities, membership organisations, charities and universities.

The CGL team will continue to provide its core services including: collaborative design, critical mailings, process-based solutions, print management, project management, warehousing, distribution and fulfilment, web-based solutions and corporate identity policing from its Crawley base. Working closely with the Bristol-based Latcham Direct team, it will trade under the brand Latcham | CGL although the group has plans to rebrand in 2018.

Latcham Direct Managing Director, Mike Hughes said, "We are thrilled that CGL has now become part of the Latcham Group. The business is a perfect, complementary fit for us in terms of the expert print management and digital solutions it provides and its commitment to delivering the highest possible service to clients.

"Together we are bigger and stronger enabling us to provide an even greater number of organisations with the capability to communicate and engage more effectively with customers across multiple channels. Helping them to enjoy greater efficiency, cost savings and more control over their print and digital communications for that all important competitive edge.

"This acquisition is the first important stage in the continued expansion of Latcham Direct demonstrating our commitment to the print sector and the huge opportunities that digital communications represents now and into the future. These are exciting times and we are looking forward to expanding the Latcham Group further in the months that lie ahead.
