A not so commons occurrence
BPIF member, Whittington Moor Printing Works recently had a visit from their Member of Parliament, Toby Perkins MP. He joined management and staff to tour the site, learning how a modern print business works and contributes to the local and national economy. The UK is the world's fifth largest producer of printed products, with 8,600 companies across the UK employing 122,000 people.

Paul Gamble, Owner of Whittington Moor Printing Works stated, "It was a brilliant opportunity to show the MP how we work, and to discuss how companies like ours - and the print industry as a whole - could be better supported by Government."
Toby Perkins, Labour Member of Parliament for Chesterfield said, "The print industry has undergone huge changes in recent years. Many printers have fallen by the wayside, especially with the growth of online providers. It is a credit to the quality, service and commitment to innovation that Whittington Moor Print Works have provided, that they continue to thrive in the current market. It was very interesting to see the new machinery and meet the team."
Peter Mitchell, Membership Development Manager - BPIF commented, "This is an excellent opportunity for our members to discuss directly the issues facing their business. It also allows MPs to outline future plans and advise on how the Government could help."
