Integrity gains high hygiene standard
Integrity Print Group, whose headquarters are based in Midsomer Norton, Somerset, has recently increased its labels factory's BRC Level 2 accreditation to a Grade A BRC high Hygiene standard which enables them to do direct contact food packaging.
Andrew Law, their Sales and Marketing Director said ‘It was difficult to achieve but it allows us to differentiate our offering. It's another USP for the business.' In addition, he added ‘to achieve the hygiene standard in the non-labels area of the business was a first and required Integrity employees to consistently apply rigorous hygiene standards across the 18-acre site.'
The group has attained BRC Basic Hygiene grade B at its main business print division, an accreditation that has been instrumental in allowing the firm to secure a £700,000 contract with a large retailer for shelf-edge graphics.
Integrity's labels operation, which is in a separate unit (and zoned area) at Midsomer Norton, has grown substantially and had sales of circa £6m last year. Their other labels site in Cardiff is not included.
Operations director David Wright led the project team. He said: ‘The key to our success was that our workforce quickly became engaged with the principles of BRC and could see its importance. We got great buy in from day one and off the back of that we quickly implemented both procedural changes and physical improvements.
Our engineering team worked on a thousand and one minor improvements and the combined effect has been staggering. You are visually aware of the difference across the site.'
Dawn Reid, the BPIF Regional Director added, ‘Integrity has recently celebrated its 100th year - being founded in 1917 - so this success following a 4 day audit is a great addition to their achievements. They also have A1 Security Print in the Midlands area - which I also cover - as part of a great group of companies who are a pleasure to support.'

22 February 2024
Performance in the UK's printing and printed packaging industry did improve in Q4, as far as output and orders are concerned. However, it didn't come close to what would historically be considered the seasonal norm, nor quite match the subdued expectations for Q4.
