The BPIF would like to congratulate Marketing Director, Amy Hutchinson, on her recent commendation at the Young Stationers' Dinner.
The judges of the Young Stationers' Prize, were delighted to announce their decision on the 18th of July at Stationers' Hall in London.
Amy makes a significant contribution to the BPIF Board and heads up a hard-working, talented team of 5 covering all areas of the BPIF and BOSS Federation. Over the past 12 months Amy has overseen several branding exercises, including the full launch of a new innovative and interactive BPIF website and a company rebrand of the BOSS Federation. She has also headed up campaigns to promote Print during National Apprenticeship Week and via various events including trade shows, conferences, the All Party Parliamentary Print Group Reception at the House of Commons and the award winning British Book Design & Production Awards. She also oversees all BPIF marketing collateral and the BPIF membership magazine, Inprint, and has launched an app to support the publication. Amy works tirelessly and innovatively to promote the Print Industry and the BPIF's members.
Highlighting the legacy and continuity of the Prize, the ceremony saw last year's winner, Angela Clarke, present the prize to the winners - Ella Kahn and Bryony Woods, founders of Diamond Kahn & Woods Literary Agency.
Also attending was David Cohen, Campaigns Editor of the Evening Standard, who spoke of the social change campaigns which he has been leading with the paper and the important role of journalism as an agent for good within society.
In her announcement of the award, Sue Pandit, Court Assistant and Chair of the Judging Panel, recognised the quality of entries for this year's award and the challenge faced by the judging panel in selecting the winner.
Ella and Bryony co-founded the Diamond Kahn & Woods Literary Agency in 2012, when they were both in their mid-twenties. Their business was built from scratch with no investment and no client list. They taught themselves the practicalities of running a business, from tax and accounting to setting up a website. They have now signed over 40 authors and have sold over 40 titles to major publishers in the UK and abroad. Their client list spans children's and adult fiction and non-fiction with a number of prize-winning authors.
The judges recognised three of the candidates as Highly Commended: Heidi Blake, BuzzFeed's UK Investigations Editor; Daisy Buchanan, a freelance feature writer and mentor to aspiring young journalists and writers; and Amy Hutchinson, Marketing Director for the BPIF.

Performance in the UK's printing and printed packaging industry did improve in Q4, as far as output and orders are concerned. However, it didn't come close to what would historically be considered the seasonal norm, nor quite match the subdued expectations for Q4.
